Is it fair enough to answer GATE in 3rd year itself? as in is it enuf time i e 6 months to prep for GATE?
are there limited no of attempts or somthing like taht?
Can any one suggest some good mock tests for GATE?

I have heard that there is a coaching for Gate in Hyderabad known as Ace engineering academy.They offer an intensive 45 days coaching for GATE in summers and winters teaching 6-10 hours daily, I don't have any first hand experience with the coaching.I met a few guys at IITK's counselling for CS who had studied from there.They also have long term batches.You can try there.I can give you one of the guy's email who has studied from there.You can ask me at hemantofkanpur@ gmail.com. Also before going there in winters find out if they have a intensive batch in winters for mechanical engineering. Also I believe that the winter batches do get cancelled as they got cancelled last year due to lack of students

sunil here,,, I am engineering final year student interested to take
up GATE 2009..is it necessary to refer any correspondence material
like elite academy's or brilliant's.. which other books be most
suitable for short term preperation.. or is it necessary to join class
room coaching...is thr any institute which provides t same for 45 days
commencing from now...

Hi Sangeetha,

Preparations for thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and maths is not a big issue... I don know ow abt Food tech. U just split ur portions. for thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and maths u may refer Mehanical syllabus. U may get a better idea for that.

as per my knowledge a person can write gate till how long he gets a valid score.the score is valid for 2 years. u can see pepole doing mtech or other higher studies after settling in job to attain higher posts. i hope this message is useful to u.
