Delhi gang rape: Juvenile to be set free in 27 months
A
Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Saturday held that the minor accused
was "involved"; in the gang rape and murder of the 23-year-old student
and sent him to three years in a "place of safety" at a reformatory
home.

As
soon as the verdict was pronounced, Nirbhaya's family came out of the
court in tears. While the father said he was disheartened and would
appeal against the order, the mother was seen weeping.

street protests tougher anti-rape laws were introduced by the
government few months ago. However the demand for change in the age of
delinquents was retained at 18 years.
After this verdict the
final conclusion is there is a major problem with the system that allows
someone who has raped and brutally murdered a girl to be set free after
just 3 years because "he was a juvenile"
